SAFETY FIRST!

Be proactive when it comes to the safety of your workers. There will always be a level of danger where the lifting of heavy materials is required, but we can mitigate the threats by adding 2 main ingredients, hoist inspection/proper maintenance & appropriate training. It is a fact that the majority of injuries are operator error. Lets get this upcoming season fresh with new confidence and let DSM Hoist help you.

Off Topic

In this life, everyone needs a passion that embellishes their free time… something that inspires & lifts your spirit. In the case of our boss, Scott, his passion, hands down, is restoring old cars. There is much more to this story, but for the sake of your time, we’ll save for another day.

We’re all familiar with putting so much on our plate that before we realize, it’s dripping over with good intentions & many projects one man alone can’t finish. Which brings me to 2 cute little studebakers that sit patiently waiting for their turn at restoration.. And as Scott’s plate continues to evolve (get fuller), this becomes an awesome opportunity for someone else to jump into this fulfilling world of restoration at a fantastic price… I left the link below if you want to check it out.

These kind of “off Topic” posts I hope you find refreshing.. it’s kind of nice to know fun facts about the people you do business with. It breaks the ice & sometimes can lead to a great conversation.

From all of us here at DSM Hoist, have a great weekend! Stay Safe!

OSHA 1926.1427 (b) Operator Training - The employer must provide each operator-in-training with sufficient training through a combination of formal & practical instruction to ensure that the operator-in-training develops the skills, knowledge, and ability to recognize and avert risk necessary to operate the equipment safely for assigned work.

When it comes to safety and staying compliant with osha guidelines, we will help develop a plan so that every worker in your facility gets the proper training to feel confident in their rigging & operator responsibilities.

If you employ a large staff & it is feasible for your facility to appoint a full time Trainer, We have a program that would be perfect for you called “Train the Trainer.” Give us a call & tell us about your facility and how we can benefit you.

Rigging Training ESSENTIAL

One major cause of hoist accidents is poor rigging. It is vital to ensure that your operators are properly trained by a designated rigger trainer. They learn the fundamentals of physics & master formulas that will aid them in determining suitable lifting approaches for whatever task comes their way. This essential training drastically maximizes safety, while curbing product loss.
